INTERNATIONAL COFFEE DAY

THE DAY OF COFFEE

Sunny Sunday, we-time and a coffee event for those seeking relaxation

The automatic sliding doors to the Akvárium Klub opened, and the wonderful scent of coffee filled the hall and enveloped us. We took quick steps further into the room. While the baristas were preparing specialty coffee after specialty coffee at an astonishing pace, the coffee roasters were happy to talk to us about their coffee. I would like to go into the details of three brilliant stands, even though all eight exhibitors came up with something unique or new.

1 – LUCKY CAP MICRO ROASTERY

We cupped two versions of espresso, namely László Bányai’s Costa Rican natural and honey-processed coffee. All types of coffee considered at the event, I liked this honey-processed espresso the most.

2 – BY BEANS COFFEE

Three types of coffee were put in our hands at this stand:

Kenyan filter coffee: Thanks to automatic coffee bagging equipment, long queues of people at the event were provided with brew of the same quality.

El Cambalache by Kafferostare Per Nordby with citrus notes of grapefruit

Iridamo 100% Arabica by Le Piantagioni del Caffè ranked first in Dóri’s list. Tart fruitiness and rich nutty-cashew taste melted together in perfect harmony. In our opinion, this coffee had the most full-bodied and creamiest texture.

3 – GOOSEBUMPS COFFEE LAB

Goosebumps made its debut with a high-end stand and their first self-roasted coffee. Goosebumps has not only led in terms of technology, but also proved that cappuccino made with plant-based milk can be just as delicious as ‘traditional’ cappuccino made with cow’s milk.

+1 CASINO MOCCA

Roastery Casino Mocca came with filter coffee and gave us the idea to bring our own porcelain cups with us next time, thus we would use lesser paper cups. With this in mind, I asked them to pour my cup of Ethiopian Mormora coffee into the paper cup I got at the other stand.

@casinomocca

I think I should hint my great idea of encouraging visitors to bring their own favourite drinking vessels with them next year…
